Mineforce Australia recently had great pleasure in giving a $250 donation to the Townsville Special Children's Christmas Party.
The donation went to providing disabled and disadvantaged children an unforgettable experience, helping them to forget their troubles for a couple of hours, socialise with others in similar circumstances and just be kids at an exceptional time of the year.
Children enjoyed an abundance of food, fun and entertainment before individually meeting Santa and receiving two gifts.
Mineforce Australia Financial Controller, Beverley Watson, says the company was delighted to be involved in such a worthwhile event.
"It's a fantastic day. The challenges these families and children face daily are tremendous and to be able to offer some support and relief, particularly at this time of the year, is extremely fulfilling."
The party, now in it's 20th year, is held every year in various locations around Australia. The children invited range from 6 months to 15 years of age and many travel long distances to attend this special day. The event is completely funded through the generosity of the business community.
A wonderful note from a grateful parent posted on the 4TO FM Facebook Page:
"Today was one of the best experiences and feelings of understanding I have had on such a large scale. This is easily the hardest time of the year as a mum of an autistic child and neuro-typical child. My youngest misses so much and my eldest just can't... Today's party was a 'can' for us all."
