Mineforce Movember Success

2nd December 2013

It's been a wild and hairy 30 days for the Mineforce Australia Berth 8 Project Team at the Townsville Port with the 2013 Movember Campaign finally coming to a close on Saturday.

Over the last four weeks the project team fought the good fight for men's health and raised a whopping $1,330 in donations and sponsorships, through support from clients, suppliers, friends and family.

Mineforce Australia Berth 8 Project Manager, Jason Fitzgerald, was extremely impressed with the results.

"We have received such positive support from the community over the past month and it was fantastic to see our workers getting involved and supporting such a worthwhile cause.  There were some impressive Mo's, it's definitely been amusing to watch, however everyone is certainly happy to be returning to clean-shaven faces."

All of the killer Mo's can be viewed in the 'Mineforce Movember Hall of Fame 2013'.

Congratulations to the team for their efforts and resilience, and thank you to everyone who supported their quest.

There were 21 countries officially taking part in Movember 2013, with over 122,000 people from Australia registered.  More than $102 million was raised over the month.  From humble beginnings back in 2003, today Movember is a truly global movement and is the largest non-government funder of prostate cancer in the world.
